Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital in Nigeria Following Tragic Road Accident

The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been released from care, Nigerian authorities confirmed on Wednesday evening. The athlete was caught in a vehicular crash in the Lagos area on December 29th, a horrific crash that resulted in the deaths of two of his team members.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

The sports star had been under observation while recovering from minor injuries, representatives had said on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on X that Joshua was judged healthy enough to “recuperate at home”.

“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two departed friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the commissioner stated.

A Tribute to the Fallen

Those who lost their lives were identified as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. The official further stated that the athlete was heartbroken and deeply emotional over the passing of his two close friends.”
