Barcelona Ready for First Fixture at Renovated Camp Nou over the weekend

Barça revealed they will play at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou over the weekend. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Bilbao team in La Liga 30 months following their departure for construction to commence.

“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

The stadium will not be at full capacity though over 45,000 attendees can be present based on approved permits. Once fully finished, the Camp Nou is due to hold close to 105,000 fans, increasing from the former 99,000. Officials confirmed completed upgrades featured an updated entryway for the team and new dressing rooms.

Stadium Testing

Barcelona held an open training session inside the stadium on 7 November. They mentioned they are seeking authorization from Uefa for their upcoming Champions League fixture against Eintracht Frankfurt on 9 December at the stadium. They have been hosting matches in the temporary ground.
