David Walliams parted ways with publishing house.

The author

Prolific writer for children and comedian David Walliams has been dropped by his publisher HarperCollins UK, according to an announcement.

An official for the publisher stated: "Following a thorough review, and following the appointment of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish additional books by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the decision was made after an investigation into claims about inappropriate behaviour involving female individuals.

The company did not confirm the motivations for this action, noting: "We do not comment on private personnel issues."

An Illustrious Writing Journey

Walliams is one of the UK's most successful children's authors, boasting over more than 60 million copies internationally in dozens of tongues.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

A number of his books, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into TV movies.

His bibliography includes in excess of 40 works altogether, including a holiday title titled *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins last autumn.

A Dual Career

His initial claim to fame came on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE back in 2017 in recognition of his work for charity and the arts.

This development follows the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO in October.
