Player's Prior Off-Field Troubles The receiver missed the initial part of this NFL campaign due to an league-mandated ban for his role in causing a multi-vehicle accident on a Texas roadway that left multiple people hurt. Rice was given 30 days in jail and probationary supervision after entering a guilty plea to felony charges.
