The Opening Xbox Game Pass Games of 2026 Show Xbox Is Still Fighting.

Everywhere you go, fans keep sounding the knell for Microsoft's gaming division. The platform was lately surpassed in sales by a platform few have heard of. Dedicated Xbox communities are now publishing content about PlayStation as a new development. Last year proved to be a period of total upheaval for the Xbox ecosystem. But if we're going solely off the titles headed to the service in 2026, it becomes clear that Microsoft still intends to draw people in with strong games on its key platform.

The Current Inclusions

A pair of titles you can play right now today, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, are not the headliners. Rather, it's what is coming to Game Pass soon that's deserving of attention.

Upcoming Headline Games

Starting January 13th, the platform will add the underrated Star Wars Outlaws, a vast exploration title that deviates from typical Ubisoft design with a space-faring criminal escapade. An additional significant inclusion is Resident Evil Village with its iconic tall vampire, hailed in past assessments as "an ideal blend of horror and action."

Compelling Indie Titles

But even the smaller games set to join the catalog are noteworthy here. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, an unjustly ignored roguelite offering thrilling gameplay, drops on Jan. 7th — and it's worth experiencing even if you missed out on the first Lost in Random game.

The British post-apocalyptic game from last year may draw you in in about 15 minutes flat.

Atomfall, a game blending infiltration and resource management by Rebellion Developments, is also a game to check out. Ultimate tier members also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to anticipate.

A Robust Selection of Games

All in all, this isn't a revolutionary update to Game Pass, and they don't represent first-party juggernauts that validate the subscription alone. But Microsoft's additions here are rock solid. There's a good mixture of old games you might have missed and new-ish games that didn't get the attention they deserved the first time around — transforming them into ideal prospects to experience a revival on Game Pass.

Be prepared to say goodbye to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, though.
