The visionary game developer, renowned for co-creating the globally famous franchise Call of Duty, has died in a traffic collision in Los Angeles, California aged 55.

The tragic news was announced by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, the video game company he co-founded.

The celebrated industry figure died after his automobile collided and caught fire on a motorway in Los Angeles on this past Sunday, as reported by.

"We are facing an unimaginable loss, and our deepest sympathies go to Vince's loved ones, those closest to him, and everyone impacted by his work," a representative from Electronic Arts said.
